Maid Happy

People have no clue how blessed they are, truly blessed, not the blessings of material things but of the things that matter most.

When my grandson was born he spent close to four months in NICU and the things I witnessed during that time and since then have changed my perception of what blessings really are.

Life is fragile, everything you are able to do, blink your eyes, talk, see, hear, walk or eat, there is someone somewhere that is unable to or never has. When Hunter was about 8 weeks he was removed from the respirator, the nurses then told us the next thing we are going to do is teach him how to nurse from a bottle. Every living thing is born knowing instinctively how to do that, everything!
But it's an instinct you can lose, so he was taught how to nurse. It was that moment that I realized that every ability no matter how large or small or how great or mundane was a blessing for me because someone somewhere was not blessed with the same ability.

Today was a "normal" day for me, I did my usual things but was able to do something that I normally pay someone else to do it or takes me a week to complete.

I swept and mopped today.....

Not just the kitchen, or living room but my complete home, it's small but to a person that can't sit or stand for longer than 15 minutes or so at a time due to pain, IT'S GIGANTIC!

It took all day but I managed it and it looks amazing for about 30 minutes, till I let the six fur babies outside... because it hasn't rained in MONTHS it does today because I mopped!
Yep blame the rain on me...

Today I am grateful for being able to do an everyday chore that so many people never realize how blessed they are to be able to do it.
