I just love my grandchildren; they are such wonderful people. It always amazes me how intuitive they are and how their brains work, it is really something amazing to witness. It speaks volumes about their mother because they are all strong independent thinkers with very different opinions, and beliefs. But they are always respectful of each other when discussing their thoughts and ideas. I cannot wait to see what they do with their lives. I hope that I am blessed enough to witness it. I love that they challenge each other and debate with respect. I love just sitting there listening and learning. I love it when they say dang nanny, I did not think of that! The discussion today was about me wanting to donate my body to science. Those kids never fail me with their warped sense of humor they all said almost at the same time, when you die. Yes, smart asses when I die! Of course, they say with you Nanny we never know.
Boy does this conversation take on a new meaning, it is crazy but so much fun, then we finally get serious about it. I was so touch at their take on this subject and what they thought about it. They all agreed it was my decision and I said yes, it is but I am not the one who will have to live with this choice, you will. We talked for a couple of hours about it and said they would let me know when they decided how they truly feel about it.
I love these kids, life has not been kind to them in any way
and they are very mature and unique in the way they think about things, more mature
than most adults I know. It is wonderful but heartbreaking at the same time
because I know the why and how of this.
Today I am so grateful to be able to have real conversations
with these kids and so grateful that they are so intuitive and unique. Such smarties they are!
