For A Moment In Time

Is funny you spend your whole childhood wanting to grow up and then you spend your whole adult life wishing you could go back in time.

My daughter will be 41 years old in two days and  two of my three grandchildren are adults and the baby is 14 years old.

They are all at an age that life is theirs and they are busy with building their own lives, raising their family and life goes on....

But Lord it's so hard and I wonder did my parents feel this way? They haven't done anything to make me feel this way, it's just the way life is... you grow up, you move away, and the elder generation fades away.

Yesterday my daughter came over to go over the Christmas items I have bought for the kiddos.
We visited for a while and memories of when she was a little girl and would beg me every day can I open a present now? Nope, you have to wait for Christmas, then I finally decided that she could open one before Christmas, and she could choose!

It became the best part of Christmas and I missed that moment so much. So yesterday I said you want to open a present. She said No that's okay I will wait till Christmas, funny how life changes isn't it.

Finally after me forcing her and PICKING the gift myself, she opened it and LOVED it.
It was a very unique Alice in Wonderland Tea cup
Then we began talking photos and I remembered something I had made for her, and forced her to open it up, by then we were giggling and laughing.

Finally, I was putting the gifts up and said you know you always picked out a gift and opened it for Christmas, she said yeah but I already opened two so far, yeah but I picked them out!

So she picked one out and began to open it, as I sat there watching I could see my little baby girl and the joy of excitement fill her eyes with sparkles and for a moment in time, it was as it always was during Christmas.

Today I am grateful that I am able to have this moment with my daughter, considering all that has happened this year, it was a moment in time I never thought I would get.

Also, our family was blessed to welcome Olivia Rose to the world, Happy Birthday Olivia.
