Struggling with the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey has taken a tremendous toll on my heart, body, and soul. I know that we are going to get back to normal but I am not sure how long it will be.
It seems like a never-ending task and for every accomplishment you find heartbreak.
We have been working on the back room of our office that is used for storage. Storage of business files lost memories and lots of other things.
With each item, you find that you celebrate that wasn't ruined by the flood waters you find something that was.
Today we are grateful that a family scrapbook was spared, inside are pictures of my our younger generation as children, our parents and memories that are treasured.
No matter how hard you work, how many things you own, how many great experiences you have in life, it's really the little things that matter.
Fires, Hurricanes, and flood waters can and do steal everything you own, leaving behind destroyed items of your life, but what carries all of through life's difficulties are the little things.
A soft giggle of a baby.
The wet sloppy kiss of a puppy.
The laughter of friends.
Dinner shared among family.
The love and time spent with family.
Nothing can take away the little things of life than in the end turn out to be the greatest treasures of life.
As I come across things that need to be thrown away due to being destroyed I hold on to that thought, you can't take away what I carry in my soul and for that I am grateful.
