The tooth fairy came to see me Monday, May 9, 2011, and didn’t leave me anything!
I hear kids today are getting $10.00 a tooth so I could have racked in $40.00 well actually $30.00 two teeth were broken down to the gums. Not a cavity one. I am about to turn fifty-two years old and I am missing ten teeth due to Ankylosing Spondylitis. The dentist says my teeth have no cavities but are dying from the inside due to Ankylosing Spondylitis. Over the years I have lost one here and one there due to eating normal food. I lost one eating a sandwich, it crumbled. I lost one eating an egg roll, it crumbled. The last two I lost eating a soft crème chocolate egg for Easter. Today is Wednesday, May 11, 2011, and I sit here typing with my four front teeth missing. In a lot of pain and wondering just how many times am I going to have to do this during my lifetime? It cost me $1100.00 to have the four of them pulled and the partial plate cost me $1600.00, almost $700.00 per tooth. I am thankful I was blessed enough to have the money to have this done and for my husband and family encouragement to do this. I am proud of my self this is the first time in my life that I was able to go to the dentist office by my self, due to fear. I went three times actually. I am planning on having my pictures taken with my daughter and grandchildren. Here is to courage and big smiles!
