Rest In Peace Max

We have a neighbor who has a beautiful white pit bull such a sweet little boy, but he is a Houdini always managing to escape their yard. Today was no different I rounded him up and took him home. I had to leave and knew his family were at work. When I arrived home, he was lying dead in my ditch, I could not believe that he was there. I had made sure to secure the fence before leaving him. I walked over to make sure he was gone, and he was. I sat there with him for a while and just cried, so brokenhearted for him and his family.

I went into the house and got a blanket to cover him with, and then went to his home to leave a note for the family. While I was there, I investigated the gate to make sure it was still locked and it was, it was then that I discovered the hole under the fence. I am not sure if it was there when I had brought him home.

I kept a close eye on him till I seen his family was home, so I went to tell them about their pet. I told the man I would take him back to his dog and help load him in my car. I figured it would be easier to do this with my Bow wow wagon.

I felt so sorry for him he just started weeping. When we finally managed to get him back to his home, he stood there for a while not saying anything. I had no words to offer him that would have made him feel better.

He finally hugged me and said that he was grateful I was the one who found him and took such kind care of him till he got there. I finally left but they stayed with me for the rest of the day, his words.

Today I am grateful that I was the one who found him and protected him till his family could get him, it was the least that I could do.

Rest in peace little Max.
