This year along with so many others has been the hardest of my life, today this popped up in my memories and I would like to share it with you.
Some of you may know that I hate to grocery shop so sometimes I try to do kind deeds to make the experience more joyful.
Today I seen a local police officer and “stalked” him to the checkout. Lord that boy walks fast!
But determination won… I got to him as he got in line… I asked him if he was buying lunch for his self, and he said yes.
I asked if I could buy him lunch and he smiled big and politely said no.
I smiled to myself and thought, you don’t know a determined Cookie when you see one.
So after a long polite debate, I WON!!!!!!!!!!

I finally said you may as well allow me to buy your lunch because I will make a scene and will probably end up being arrested. He laughed.
I gave him the money and he said it was too much so bless his little heart he figured he would win this battle but he didn’t.
Finally after a long pause he said thank you and the expression and emotion and the hint of tears will forever stay with me.
He asked me my name and I said Cookie and I asked his and he said J……
It broke my heart to see such a little act of kindness evoke so much emotion.
I hope to see him again!
Yesterday I did the same exact thing but different circumstances.
