Almost Normal

I closed myself off from the world today.

I drank sweet southern iced tea.

I ate chocolate ice cream and watched television.

I pretended my life was the same before Hurricane Harvey came to visit.

I watched the news and my heart wept for those in Hurricane Irma's path.

I looked around grateful to know that my family is safe and my life will be okay.

I am grateful to know that I am still a survivor.

I am grateful to know that my beliefs remain in tact.

And I am grateful to realize I am looking forward to tomorrow.

Today I am grateful for this blog that reminds me to be grateful.
