When my life gets to a point that I can’t deal with it anymore I listen to this song. I remind myself life is not a marathon of how fast you get anywhere or do anything it is just about doing it. I remember once being curled up in bed with my mom confiding in her, about some of my struggles.
She whispered you know Cookie everyone can move a mountain. I laughed and looked at her and said you mean a real mountain, dirt and stones? She said yes, everyone has the ability to move a mountain. I said yeah well tell me how? She said a shovel at a time, you do it one stone at a time and one day you look over your shoulder or in front of you and you will discover you have moved that mountain. When my life gets difficult with the challenges of Ankylosing Spondylitis I remember that conversation and take a deep breath and remind myself. It only takes a stone at a time Cookie, one small stone at a time. Out of the mountain of despair, a stone of hope emerges. (Martin Luther King Jr.)

I wish you could have gotten to hear your song.
I love and miss you dearly.
The Climb Lyrics
I can almost see it.
That dream I’m dreamin
But there’s a voice inside my head saying you’ll never reach it.
Every step I’m taking.
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction.
My faith is shakin.
But I gotta keep tryin.
Gotta keep my head held high.
There’s always gonna be another mountain.
I’m always gonna wanna make it move.
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I’m gonna have to lose.
Ain’t about how fast I get there.
Ain’t about what’s waitin on the other side.
It’s the climb.
The struggles I’m facing.
The chances I’m taking.
Sometimes might knock me down but
No I’m not breaking.
I may not know it but these are the moments that
I’m gonna remember most, yeah.
I Just gotta keep going.
And I gotta be strong.
Just keep pushing on ’cause,
There’s always gonna be another mountain.
I’m always gonna wanna make it move.
Always gonna be an uphill battle
But Sometimes I’m gonna have to lose.
Ain’t about how fast I get there.
Ain’t about what’s waitin on the other side.
It’s the climb.
Yeah-yeah
There’s always gonna be another mountain.
I’m always gonna wanna make it move.
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes you’re gonna have to lose.
Ain’t about how fast I get there.
Ain’t about what’s waitin on the other side.
It’s the climb.
Yeah-yeah-yea
Keep on moving,
Keep climbing,
Keep the faith,
Baby.
It’s all about,
It’s all about the climb.
Keep your faith,
Keep your faith.
Whoa, O Whoa.
