Oh Baby

Thank God for laughter, and the ability to find humor in every thing well almost everything.

I do my best to always find the humor in every situation in my life that I am dealt. I always tease about changing my name to Barbie because I am unable to bend and I am stiff like a Barbie doll. My husband is a lot like me, but he finds humor more times than I am able to, maybe because more often than not, I am the brunt of the joke.

All right now think about it. I am unable to bend and look down so I am always straight well as straight as I can be. When I lean over to clean out my bathtub I am straight out and usually my head is near the area where you keep the soap. Whenever I lean forward a lot of times I fall. You see where this is going don’t you?

Well once upon a time, there was a fused stepchild, Oh all right, wrong story. One day I was cleaning out my tub, which is a large garden tub and very difficult for me to do. I was leaned over the tub with my face in the soap dish doing my best to reach the inside of the tub to clean it out. It wasn’t going well at all. I don’t know why dirt can’t float up and stick to the top of the tub! So I had an ingenious idea, I would scoot back a little and lean inside the tub so I could clean the bottom of it. Great! This is working wonderfully, scrubbing the tub with my face almost touching the bottom was ok, at least it was getting clean. All done!

So I go to lift myself up and realize to my horror I can’t. I wiggle and push as hard as I can but it doesn’t work, oh dear lord I am stuck! So there I am in a bright shiny clean bathtub and my tush up in the air and my feet can’t touch the ground. Good thing I wear clothes while cleaning the tub!

After struggling for about fifteen minutes I realized I needed help. So I began to holler for my husband to come help me. My knight in shining armor was there shortly to save me or was he? I heard laughter under his breath and finally he says, “Oh Baby, I love the view!” He patted me on my tush and said hey I have an idea!

I was laughing and fussing at the same time. Ronnie you better save me! After about five minutes of him laughing and trying to convince me this would be a great position, he finally gave in and saved me. How can you be mad at someone who still finds you attractive during your worst moments? Thank you God for giving us a sense of humor, to help us through life’s difficult moments.
