It has been five years since you died, although we never met in person, you made a huge impact on me and my life. I have always wanted to share your story, but I realize that every time I add another person, I am telling your story.

As I am writing this, I have my music playlist on shuffle, R.E.M. “Everybody Hurts Some Time" begins to play. I hope that you know how much you meant to your family, I hope you know how much we learned as a community, that you are constantly on my mind, and I hope your family has found peace.

Our stories were the same, but one had a tragic ending while one continued on. I will never forget you and my hope is one day we can finally meet.
